The Association continues to make common cause with the US humanities community to support the cultivation and dissemination of research-based knowledge:
-
- The Association sponsored the 2020 Virtual National Humanities Conference—hosted by the Federation of State Humanities Councils and the National Humanities Alliance (NHA)—where Catherine Cocks (Michigan State) led a panel on University Presses as Partners for Public Engagement, moderated by Executive Director Peter Berkery. Cocks and panelists Elizabeth Demers (Michigan), Jon Miller (Akron), and Tony Sanfilippo (Ohio State) later summarized their presentations in a post for the NHA’s Humanities for All blog.
- The Association also sponsored the 2021 Virtual Humanities Advocacy Day, during which state-based delegations met via video or conference call with Members of Congress and their staff. External Communications Manager Annette Windhorn, Joel Cosseboom (Hawaii), and Christie Henry (Princeton) attended as advocates.
- Cocks, Darcy Cullen (British Columbia), and Friederike Sundaram (Stanford) contributed to the NHA’s working paper, Publishing and Public Humanities (available via Humanities Commons). Berkery served as part of the project’s advisory board.
- Re-envisioning Humanities Infrastructure, by Charles Watkinson (Michigan) and Melissa Pitts (British Columbia), appeared in Inside Higher Ed in February.
